Wild Animals

Residents have the right to remove certain wild animals causing damage on their property. Unfortunately, the city does not have the manpower or the equipment to deal with the majority of nuisance wildlife issues in Chanhassen; however, should an animal pose a direct threat or is located within a dwelling, you may call City Hall at 952-227-1100 and we will send a Community Service Officer to assess the situation. I Otherwise, you may contact the DNR at their Information Center number, 651-296-6157, a pest control company listed in the yellow pages, or remove the animal yourself with a live trap. In the event that you have a wild animal that is not a threat but is injured, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is an excellent resource. For more information regarding nuisance wildlife issues, see the links in the left menu.
