Lake Lucy Road Rehabilitation Project
This proposed project is planned to be constructed in 2020. The portion of Lake Lucy Road scheduled for rehabilitation is between State Highway 41 (Hazeltine Boulevard) and County Road 117 (Galpin Boulevard). The road, originally constructed between 1994 and 1998, is designated as a Municipal State Aid Street – thus the plans will need to meet State Aid Standards in addition to being reviewed and approved by the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s State Aid Division. The project will primarily be funded by the city’s State Aid funds, assessments, and utility funds.
The project is anticipated to include a mill and overlay surface improvement of the bituminous street, a full depth reclamation of the adjacent trail, spot curb and gutter replacement, ADA pedestrian ramps, miscellaneous utility improvements as necessary (e.g. spot repairs of storm, sanitary, and water utilities).
July 30, 2020
In light of recent state funding losses stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and out of concern for the potential negative economic impact assessments might have on some Chanhassen residents, the City Council voted Monday night to postpone planned road construction projects for 2021 and beyond and reassess at a later time.
The City of Chanhassen's Assessment Practice is intended to provide direction to City Staff in preparation of assessment rolls for public improvements, to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all properties within the City of Chanhassen.
