Bluff Creek Trail


The Bluff Creek Trail section from State Highway 41 to Century Trail/Century Boulevard is in need of rehabilitation. The work consists of reconstructing a bituminous trail, which will include: grading, full depth reclamation, upgrading storm water culverts, upgrading pedestrian ramps, clearing unsafe trees and restoring any disturbed areas. 

The contract for this work was awarded to the lowest bidder, Northwest Asphalt. While construction is underway, the trail will remain closed. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, September 30, 2019 and is anticipated to be completed by November 15, 2019. (weather permitting)

Project Updates

June 15, 2020
The project is substantially complete with just a few punchlist items being completed over the next couple of weeks.

May 26, 2020
Turf restoration and landscape repairs are scheduled to be completed this week.  A few punchlist items will follow and wrap up this project.

May 18, 2020
All hydro seeding is complete. Irrigation and pet fence repairs continue and sod should be in place later this week. Final touches to landscaping will follow.

May 11, 2020
Landscaping and turf work continue this week and next. It is scheduled to be complete in the next two weeks.

May 4, 2020
Concrete pedestrian ramp installation, topsoil placement, seeding, and irrigation/pet fence repairs continue this week.  Sod will be put in later this week or next week.

April 28, 2020
Topsoil and grading along the trail edges continues this week.  Concrete pedestrian ramps are being installed and bituminous trail repairs are being done.  There is the possibility of hydro-seeding and sod going in late in the week or next week.  All trail users, please observe trail and sidewalk closures for your own safety, as well as the safety of workers.

April 14, 2020
The contractor will mobilize back on site starting next Week. Pedestrian ramp removal and replacement, grading along the trail and placement of topsoil, and restoration will follow. Irrigation and dog fence repair is being scheduled for last week of April.

November 8, 2019
As of 5 p.m. today, work on the trail is complete until Spring 2020 and will be open for use and maintained throughout the winter. Shortly after road restrictions are lifted in the spring, the trail will close again for a few weeks while contractors assess and repair damage to sprinkler systems, invisible dog fences, and landscaping; complete turf restoration; and replace temporarily-paved pedestrian ramps with concrete.
